(BOSTON) April 2, 2019 — This month the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) Annual Meeting will take place in Baltimore, MD with more than 2,000 surgeons in attendance. Dr. Michael Reinhorn, session “High Reliability Surgical Practices: Streamingling for Quality” will share the incomplete pictures of surgical quality that insurance companies, surgeons, and patients have and how surgeons can address them.

In his session, Dr. Reinhorn shares how his experience in business school and specialty focus in hernia repairs lead him to change his provider perspective to that of the patient, payer, employer, and society. His research and experience applying a framework of quality surgical care to previous patients at his practice, Boston Hernia, provides attendees with a new and unique approach to treating their patients.
At the end of Dr. Reinhorn’s session, attendees will understand why it’s important to streamline in healthcare and how to distinguish the surgical outcomes that matter to providers, payers, and most importantly patients.
Dr. Reinhorn’s session is a portion of a larger session called “Defining Quality in Hernia Surgery” moderated by Dr. Benjamin Poulose and Dr. Ajita Prabhu from 3:00-4:00 PM in Ballroom II.
About Michael Reinhorn
Michael Reinhorn has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Cornell University, his Doctor of Medicine degree from Boston University School of Medicine, and a Master’s of Business Administration from Brandeis Heller School for Social Policy and Management. He completed his surgical residency at Boston University in 2001 and has since won 22 awards and contributed to at least five publications in the medical industry.
